The Alliance for Aging Research has released a new short You Tube film urging seniors to lead their families in vaccination by getting their recommended vaccines and encouraging their loved ones to do the same.

“Our Best Shot: The Importance of Vaccines for Older Adults” provides an overview of how vaccines work, highlights the importance of vaccination and debunks common myths and misconceptions. It also addresses the need for vaccination later in life, encourages communication with healthcare professionals and reminds older adults of their influential role in increasing the immunity of their families and social circles.

This film is part of a larger community workshop kit being developed through a partnership with the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging (n4a) that will be released broadly around National Grandparents Day in mid-September. Its release coincides with August’s National Immunization Awareness Month.
