LeadingAge offering seminar on CMS Requirements of Participation

LeadingAge experts are offering an overview of a Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) final rule revising the current Requirements of Participation for nursing homes providers.

The $99 webinar, planned for Thursday, Oct. 13, from 1-2 p.m. CDT, will cover what critical steps skilled nursing providers should be taking in preparation for compliance with the new regulations.

The CMS “mega rule” is expected to have a profound effect on the field and includes provisions for compliance and ethics programs, quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) processes as well as many other important changes to nursing home operations.
LeadingAge says attendees will:

  • Gain a clear understanding of the provisions of the new requirements and how they differ from existing regulations
  • Explore key areas of importance within the final rule and their impact on staff resources, resident care and quality of life
  • Consider what the changes mean for nursing home providers’ day-to-day operations and care delivery

The speakers are Cheryl Phillips, LeadingAge senior vice president of public policy and health services, and Evvie Munley, LeadingAge director of health regulations and policy.

This program has been approved for Continuing Education for 1 total participant hour by NAB/NCERS. Contact meetings@leadingage.org or 1-866-898-2624 (press option 2) for any questions.
