Board of Certified Professional Midwives seeks comments on rules

The South Dakota Board of Certified Professional Midwives (CPM) was appointed last fall and since that time has been working on developing rules to regulate the practice of CPMs. Prior to initiating the formal rules process, the board is looking for public comments on the draft rules to allow the board to address questions or concerns prior to the formal rules promulgation process.

Comments regarding the CPM draft rules should be submitted to Ashley Tanner, Senior Staff Attorney, South Dakota Department of Health (DOH) by Friday, May 4. The comments can be sent to Tanner at ashley.tanner@state.sd.us or at the South Dakota Department of Health, 600 East Capitol Avenue, Pierre SD 57501. Comments will be forwarded to the CPM Board prior to their next meeting.
