The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has issued a final rule updating the inpatient prospective payment system for federal fiscal year (FFY) 2019. The final rule includes provisions related to the continued implementation of Medicare S-10 worksheet data for distributing Medicare disproportionate share hospital payments; changes to the Medicare and Medicaid Electronic Health Record Incentive programs (now called the Promoting Interoperability programs); and the removal and de-duplication of a number of quality measures across programs.
