Overview: SDAHO is hosting the 2017 Virtual Conference: Aligning Practice with Evidence from July 26-27, 2017. This virtual conference is sponsored by the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO), American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM) and Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association (HPNA).

Provided live via the internet, the 2017 Virtual Conference: Aligning Practice with Evidence will feature:

• Live streaming plenary speakers
• Webinar-based concurrent sessions
• Online Poster Gallery
• Video Library
• Unique opportunities for interaction
• Continuing education credit for Nurses and Physicians and providing a certificate of CME credit for other professionals

Target Audience:
This virtual conference will gather physicians, nurses, social workers, counselors, spiritual care professionals, advanced practice professionals and additional health care professionals seeking to increase their knowledge, improve their competence and enhance their professional practice in providing the highest quality of care to hospice and palliative care patients and families.

Locations: To accommodate professionals from all regions of the state, we are offering participation at three different locations for this virtual conference: SDAHO office, Sioux Falls, Regional Health, Rapid City, and Sanford Aberdeen Medical Center. A box lunch will be provided for registrants.

Dates: July 26 & 27, 2017 Time: 11:00 am – 4:15 pm (CDT) / 10:00 am – 3:15 pm (MDT)
(the time is the same for both days)

Objectives: At the completion of this conference, participants will be able to:

• Discuss the current state of evidence-based practice in hospice and palliative care;
• Discern the accuracy and quality of evidence in hospice and palliative care;
• Identify common clinical approaches/practices that are not evidence-based and discuss evidence-based alternatives.

Registration: There is a registration fee of $60.00 per SDAHO member/ $120 per non-member to participate at one of the three host sites. Advance registration is required to ensure delivery of instructional materials. Cancellation must be made 3 business days prior to this event to receive a refund of registration fees paid.
