Webinar: Telemedicine Standards
July 18 at 9:00 am to 11:00 am CDT$150.00
Are you familiar with the federal regulation on telemedicine along with the CMS hospital CoP interpretive guidelines? The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) have conditions of participation (CoP) interpretive guidelines, based on the federal regulations, for all hospitals regarding their telemedicine standards. The regulations and interpretive guidelines also impact hospitals accredited by the Joint Commission (TJC). TJC made changes to crosswalk with the final CMS standards, which affect both large hospitals, small and rural hospitals and critical access hospitals.
At the conclusion of this session, the participants will be able to:
1. Discuss the regulations and CMS interpretive guidelines which are part of the hospital CoPs on telemedicine credentialing.
2. Describe the CMS mechanism in which all hospitals use proxy credentialing with Medicare-certified hospitals or other telemedicine entities.
3. Describe the written hospital agreement that specifies the responsibilities of the distant-site hospital credentialing requirements.
4. Identify the Joint Commission standards on telemedicine found in the leadership chapter.
