Overview:

This webinar will actively engage participants to walk away with key knowledge and tools to feel more equip to advocate for sexual orientation and gender identity understanding in the nursing profession.

Objectives:
  • Recall basic terminology associated with sexual orientation and gender identity understanding
  • Describe two ways to advocate for sexual orientation and gender identity understanding in the nursing profession to improve patient care

Presenter:

Linda Anders MBA, MSN, RN, CSRN, NPD-BC, Nursing Education Programming Manager, Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society

Board certified in Nursing Professional Development; Linda Anders is an established nurse with a global mindset. Linda originally received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Olivet Nazarene University and went on to obtain her MBA and MSN with a concentration in nursing leadership in health care systems from Grand Canyon University. Linda has a strong thirst for knowledge as she is currently enrolled in a Doctor of Nursing Practice program with a minor in nursing leadership and innovation with a graduate certificate in global public health. Linda strives daily to be an advocate for nursing and her passion shines through in the work she does. Linda has been recognized for her contributions to the profession by receiving the 100 Great Iowa Nurse award and 40 Under 40 Emerging Nurse Leader Award. She is currently the nursing education programming manager with Sigma Theta Tau International.
