Free CAPC Open Access Course: Introduction to Palliative Care for Health Professionals

Many areas in our state lack access to specialty palliative care. Learning the basics of palliative care can help local health professionals support those patients with serious illness and help improve their quality of life and reduce suffering.

The Center to Advance Palliative Care’s (CAPC) open clinical training course, Introduction to Palliative Care for Health Professionals, is for health professionals from all specialties and disciplines as well as clinicians-in-training. The course offers a 360° view of the palliative care field—what it is, who delivers it, and who benefits from it.

  • Watch before-and-after patient videos demonstrating the impact of palliative care
  • Engage with interactive screens
  • Come away with an understanding of how to relieve unnecessary suffering and improve quality of life through basic palliative care principles and practices

Physicians, nurses, social workers, and care managers from CAPC member organizations, log in and take the course to earn free CE/CMEs. Free ABIM Maintenance of Certification (MOC) credits are also available for physicians. Non-members earn a Verification of Attendance certificate.
