Good & Healthy South Dakota is planning a Better Choices Better Health (BCBH) Network Conference for Sept. 7 in Pierre.
Lt. Gov. Matt Michels will offer the keynote address, and attendees will also hear from Jill Dietz, state program director for South Dakota and North Dakota for the Corporation for National & Community Service (CNCS), and a panel of BCBH workshop participants. The non-disease specific BCBH workshops, which are offered once a week for six weeks, are facilitated by trained leaders, many of whom are volunteers and may have a chronic condition.
Good & Healthy South Dakota was created by South Dakota’s Office of Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion to provide a central location for chronic disease prevention and health promotion information for communities, schools, workplaces, childcare, health care and tribes.
The conference, which will also feature breakouts on relevant topics and the sharing of first-year BCBH data and outcomes, runs 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CDT at the Red Rossa Conference Center. Registration with a continental breakfast opens at 7:30 a.m.
