State lists of 15 most common languages made available for ACA Section 1557 compliance

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Office of Civil Rights has posted new FAQs for compliance with Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act.

The section requires each covered entity to “post taglines in at least the top 15 languages spoken by individuals with limited English proficiency of the relevant State or States.”

A chart with the 15 most common languages for each state is now available at the Office of Civil Rights and can be found online here.
