The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Inspector General (OIG) has released its 2017 work plan, which describes the OIG audits and evaluations that are underway for planned and continuing legal and investigative initiatives.
The plan also notes items that have been completed, revised and removed and includes new items that have been started or planned since April 2016.
The OIG’s responsibility is to protect the integrity of HHS programs and operations by detecting and preventing fraud, waste and abuse. The 2017 work plan can be found here.
