The Senate on Monday confirmed David Shulkin, M.D., as the new secretary of Veterans Affairs.
Shulkin has served as VA undersecretary for health since July 2015. His background includes service as a physician, chief medical officer and hospital and health system leader at Morristown Memorial Hospital and Atlantic Health in New Jersey.
Shulkin received unanimous 100-0 approval from the chamber.
