The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) says that it will release further information on the implementation of the second 5-year extension period for the Rural Community Hospital Demonstration authorized by the 21st Century Cures Act, including operational and payment information, on April 12.
CMS says that it is also working toward publishing a solicitation for additional hospitals to participate in the demonstration by the statutorily mandated deadline of April 12. The solicitation will include all information needed for a hospital to submit an application, the due date for submission and the criteria according to which applications will be assessed.
CMS says it expects selections to be announced during the summer of 2017.
