A delegation of our members traveled to Washington, D.C., last week to attend the American Hospital Association (AHA) Annual Meeting and to meet with members of the South Dakota congressional delegation.
The group shared legislative priorities and feedback with Sens. John Thune and Mike Rounds and Rep. Kristi Noem’s legislative assistant, Matt Hittle. Key topics included, the American Health Care Act, Veterans Choice payment delays, Indian Health Service (IHS), regulatory reform, rural legislation extenders, and 340 Blegislation that may be introduced soon. In addition, the group shared the legislative and regulatory priorities listed in the Federal Issues Brief and the Acute Care Priorities and Post-Acute Care Priorities documents. The group included: Bryan Breitling, Heath Brouwer, Deb Fischer-Clemens, Kris Gastor, Nick Fosness, Tim Rave, Bryan Slaba, Scott A. Duke, Debra Owen and Jen Porter.
