The open enrollment period for the health insurance exchange through the Health Insurance Marketplace ends today. This year, the overall enrollment period was significantly reduced as compared to previous years.
The enrollment numbers in South Dakota reached 17, 514 as of Dec. 9. The current number does not include consumers who are automatically re-enrolled into the plan, so the total number of enrollees for 2018 is anticipated to increase. As a reminder, the number of enrollees last year exceeded 31,000.
