What does Beckenhauer Construction do? We are in the construction industry providing design/build services, construction management at-risk and construction management advisory services.

When did your business open? 1878 – We are celebrating 140 years this year!

Who owns the business? We are a family owned business, with the fifth generation currently taking over management of the company. The family is involved in several capacities including Buster Beckenhauer as the CEO, Joe Beckenhauer as President, and Bill Beckenhauer and Erin Beckenhauer in Business Development.

How long have you been an Associate Member of SDAHO? 9 years

How has Beckenhauer Construction grown or changed over the years? Originally, the main focus was on rent and building construction. Over time, specifically in 1995, this evolved to more of the construction management process, which is much more of an open book type business.

Since our shift to construction management, business has grown rapidly. Hospital-based work accounts for around 70 percent of our business, from critical access hospitals all the way to a brand new hospital, Box Butte General Hospital, in Alliance, NE.

Where are you located? We currently have three locations. Our headquarters are in Norfolk, NE with two other locations in Valley, NE and Yankton, SD.

Do you have a business slogan? “We turn visions into reality.” BCI has relationships with a number of very highly skilled architectural firms in the Midwest. We assist in developing ideas. The architectural firms put designs on paper for BCI to bring to life.

What is one thing people might be surprised to know about your company? We find joy in helping customers realize that construction projects can be fun rather than agonizing. We have one guarantee, customers will be happy at the end of a project.
