TJ: We are a law firm that offers many diverse services including banking and financial, government relations, corporate and business, employee benefits, executive compensation, franchise, health law, intellectual property, technology, international law, labor, employment, higher education, non-profit and tax-exempt organizations, real estate and environmental law, and trust and estate planning.
When did Gray Plant Mooty open?
TJ: Charles Woods founded the firm in 1866.
How long have you been an Associate Member of SDAHO?
TJ: Since November 2014.
How has Gray Plant Mooty grown or changed over the years?
TJ: As the oldest continuing law practice in Minneapolis, the firm has grown from one attorney to now almost 180 attorneys with clients all around the world. Even though the firm has grown extensively, the dedication to clients has never wavered.
Where is Gray Plant Mooty located?
TJ: We have four physical offices in Minneapolis, MN, St. Cloud, MN, Fargo, ND and Washington, D.C.
What is one thing people might be surprised to know about your company?
TJ: Each year, all members of the firm devote many hours to help low-income, non-profits and small businesses to ensure everybody has equal opportunity at high quality law representation and have their voices heard. Pro bono services are also offered to refugees fleeing persecution from home countries. If this work wasn’t done, many of these clients would not be able to afford legal help and have the help to navigate the often difficult legal system.
Additionally, Gray Plant Mooty partners with many different organizations in the community to give back. Some organizations include Advocates for Human Rights, Children’s Law Center, LegalCORPS, Minnesota AIDS Project, Volunteer Lawyers Network and Wills for Heroes.
