CMS invites hospital leaders to discuss Hospital Star Rating

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is inviting hospital leaders to seven listening sessions between now and Oct. 4 to hear comments and suggestions about how to improve the Overall Hospital Star Rating, which is part of the CMS Hospital Compare program.

The sessions are for non-teaching hospitals and will include an overview of the Hospital Star Rating program and will give the opportunity to offer feedback on the Star Rating methodology. CMS staff will collect feedback provided during the sessions to inform future methodology updates. Due to time constraints, CMS will not be able to hold a question-and-answer session.

Questions about the listening sessions can be directed to Kristen Bunt, Director of Quality Integration, at 605-361-2281.
