SDAHO members make the news

Several South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations members were in the news recently, including:

  • Regional Health in Rapid City named Paulette Davidson as president and CEO. Davidson had been serving as the acting president and CEO since July.
  • Prairie Lakes Healthcare System in Watertown is nearing completion of the Prairie Lakes Specialty Clinic, a $40 million building project that was started in October 2016. A ribbon cutting at 4:30 p.m. and public open house from 2-7 p.m. will be held Oct. 23.
  • Avera Health is opening its first Human Performance Center at St. Luke’s Hospital in Aberdeen in the near future. The center, which is being built in three phases, will focus on a holistic approach to improving athletic performance and keeping people well. Avera also has plans for a new hospital in Eureka, a new cancer center in Pierre and the prospect of a new Avera facility in Gettysburg.
  • Sanford Health has hired former VA Secretary Dr. David Shulkin as their chief innovation officer. Sanford is also growing its international footprint by expanding into five new countries – Costa Rica, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa and Vietnam.
