At the South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organization (SDAHO) annual convention held Sept. 19-21, four member health care facilities were presented with the association’s Quality Excellence Awards. The awards recognize outstanding achievements in innovation and effective quality improvement and patient safety projects.
Receiving awards were:
Avera McKennan Hospital for a project focused on decreasing postpartum hemorrhage to improve quality and decrease risks for mothers.
Kadoka Nursing Home was recognized for their proactive approach to continually improve the way care is provided to residents by engaging key stakeholders and focusing on data to drive improvement opportunities.
Madison Regional Health System received an award for their antimicrobial stewardship quality improvement work using a team-based approach and best practice guidelines.
Sioux Falls VA Healthcare System was recognized for their improvement effort in offering video-to-home appointments as a way to increase choice of care options and convenience for veterans.
