CDC Opioids Training Modules

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Guideline for Prescribing Opioids for Chronic Pain provides recommendations for safer and more effective prescribing of opioids for chronic pain in patients 18 and older in outpatient settings outside of active cancer treatment, palliative care, and end-of-life care.

Over the last year the CDC released an interactive online training series aimed to help healthcare providers apply CDC’s recommendations in clinical settings. Each stand-alone module is self-paced and offers free continuing education credit. CDC recently released the final three modules in the Applying CDC’s Guideline for Prescribing Opioids training series.  Each module includes clinical scenarios, knowledge feedback prompts, and a resource library to help enhance learning:

Use the Interactive Training Series webpage to view all the modules. The modules offer free continuing education.
