CMS Issues Factsheets for 2019 Medicare Promoting Interoperability Program

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has issued factsheets on changes to the Medicare Promoting Interoperability Program for calendar year 2019, and the new performance-based scoring methodology for eligible hospitals and critical access hospitals that submit an attestation. The new scoring methodology does not apply to Medicaid-only eligible hospitals who submit an attestation to their state Medicaid agency for the Medicaid Promoting Interoperability Program. The changes were included in the inpatient prospective payment system final rule for fiscal year 2019. For more on the Promoting Interoperability Program, visit www.cms.gov .
