Healthgrades Outstanding Patient Experience Award™ recognizes hospitals that provide an overall outstanding patient experience, delivering a positive experience for patients during their hospital stay, as reported by patients. Healthgrades bases its assessments and applies a scoring methodology to nine patient experience measures that it compiles from a 32-question survey. Healthgrades then sorts hospitals into four categories based on their attributes; such as size, location and whether they are teaching hospitals.
The top 15% of hospitals in each cohort make up the Outstanding Patient Experience Award winners and are the top in the nation for overall patient experience.
