South Dakota HPV Vaccination Resources

Human papillomavirus (HPV) is a very common virus; about one in four people are currently infected in the United States. From 2001 to 2014, 4,719 cancers diagnosed in South Dakota were in a primary site that may have been caused by HPV. The South Dakota Department of Health (SDDOH) recently announced the release of several updated HPV vaccination resources. Two interactive maps featuring county-level HPV vaccination rates in SD were recently released. These maps feature both county-level HPV vaccination rates for 1 dose and series completion in SD. A HPV vaccination infographic featuring coverage data from the 2017 National Immunization Survey has been updated and is available to order free of charge here (Stock Number: SDCCCP039). A HPV vaccination brochure with reminder magnet is also available free of charge here (Stock Number: SDCCCP030). To support HPV vaccination efforts in SD, a new webpage was developed on the SDDOH website, which serves as a centralized resource repository for HPV vaccination resources.
