Notice of the Availability of Nursing Facility Beds

Due to the impending closure of the Covington Care and Rehabilitation Center nursing facility in Sioux Falls, the South Dakota Department of Health has sent out a notice of the availability of nursing facility beds. The moratorium beds will be held by the Department of Health for up to 18 months from the closure date of August 5, 2019. These available beds can be located within 15 miles from the current facility.  Any licensed nursing facility providers interested in obtaining authority for use of some or all of these moratorium beds are asked to submit a brief proposal to the South Dakota Department of Health Deputy Secretary.  Click here  for instructions on submitting a proposal.
