The South Dakota Department of Human Services (DHS) announced their selection of 25 nursing facilities out of 104 that will receive innovation grant funding.
The innovation grants were designed to fund projects in areas crucial to the needs of South Dakota’s long-term care participants.
A total of 56 grant proposals were submitted. Nursing Home providers were asked to submit ideas that would address needs in one or more areas, including expanding the menu of service settings, improving patient quality of life within a nursing home and innovations that would positively impact staff recruitment and retention.
For a list of grant recipients and innovation information, the range of grant awardees was a high of $454,080 to mulitple facilities and low of $4,665- the funding for this program was approved by the South Dakota Legislature in March.
