On December 12, SDAHO hosted a full-day workshop on trauma-informed care. Presenter, Barbara Speedling engaged the audience with real-world scenarios and expert guidance on how to comply with regulations, while still preserving the dignity and individuality of residents who’ve experienced trauma. This event was made possible for nursing home employees by utilizing civil monetary penalty (CMP) funding. Each attendee also received Barbara Speedling’s book ‘Trauma-Informed Care and Behavioral Health Services: Achieving Compliance in Long-Term Care’.
