VA launches online patient portal for veterans

According to Healthcare IT News, the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) has launched an online patient portal through AccessVA for veterans to view their online statements. The Veteran Patient Statement section on AccessVA homepage allows veterans to view, download and print their statements up to six months after receiving service or care. The new system is designed to increase transparency within the VA and ensure veterans receive the best information possible, including comparative tools like viewing wait times, patient experience ratings, and quality of medical care at VA facilities.
