South Dakota Fall Prevention Coalition

The grave consequences of falls has prompted many organizations to identify strategies that can be implemented to reduce fall risk among the people they serve. Stakeholders across the state seek to convene a statewide Fall Prevention Coalition. While the first few meetings have been held it is not to late to join in the work.

The Statewide Fall Prevention Coalition looks to:

  1. compile existing falls prevention efforts;
  2. identification of gaps;
  3. enhance screening and referral protocol;
  4. reduce the prevalence of falls in South Dakota.  With the overall goal of coordinating efforts to reduce the prevalence of falls among adults age 65 and older.
If you are interested in either following or helping to develop the coalition please fill out this survey. The survey will ask for contact information and any work currently occurring around preventing falls.
