Caring with Limited Resources during the COVID-19 Crisis

The COVID-19 pandemic has placed unprecedented demands on America’s health care facilities and providers. With the number of patients needing acute hospital care rapidly increasing, hospitals may be challenged with significant shortages of staff and medical supplies such as personal protective equipment (PPE), hospital beds, medicines and medical devices such as ventilators.

The American Hospital Association (AHA) recently released an update on efforts to secure more resources and also compiled a list of resources, tools and sample policies to help hospitals and clinical leaders care for patients with limited resources available.
