Here’s a look at upcoming educational opportunities through SDAHO and other health-related organizations for the week of May 3.

May 4, 1pm CST | Mental Health & Substance Use Disorder Treatment Resources, Presenters:Ā  Department of Social Services

This presentation will include an overview of the treatment resources for both mental health and substance use disorders that are available through the state funded behavioral health system in South Dakota.

May 6 & 7, 11am-3pm CST | Navigating MDS 3.0, Presenter: Demi Haffenreffer
 

MDS 3.0 is a critical nursing facility assessment tool that can directly impact resident quality of care, survey outcomes, your publicly posted quality measures and your reimbursement. Make sure you and your staff know how to complete the MDS 3.0 accurately the first time! This 3-part series webinar course presents the providerā€™s perspective on this key assessment tool.

May 6, 12pm-1pm CST | Dangerous Encounters: The Active Shooter Response, Presenter:Ā  Dr. Michael Victoroff

This program is taught by a certified firearms instructor and gives practical guidance about how to survive potentially dangerous encounters and discusses workforce planning, training, and simulation, along with physical counter-measures and crisis communications. We will also address liability and the legal implications of self-defense.
