The past 19-months have been difficult for many, but especially for those who work in healthcare. When much of the world was forced to step back, healthcare professionals stepped up. Today as healthcare facilities and communities continue to work through the on-going pandemic, they are also dealing a workforce shortage, which is at a crisis level for many.
In hospitals across South Dakota, nurses, CNA’s, doctors, administrators and more are wearing many different hats to help keep facilities operating while providing quality care to patients and residents. In many of our rural facilities, job opportunities are abundant with communities eager to welcome families from across the state and nation.
In an effort to help member facilities with workforce needs, SDAHO is launching the Hometown Healthcare Heroes campaign. The campaign is designed to recognize and celebrate member facilities, the people that work there and the communities they live in. Each month SDAHO will highlight a member facility and the job opportunities at that facility. In addition, community members will share insight on the business environment, housing options, details about the school system, and some of the amenities that help make that community and surrounding areas a great place to work and live.
This month, SDAHO visits the town of Webster to learn more about the Sanford Webster Hospital and Medical Center along with the Bethesda Home Heritage Village.
