The South Dakota 2022 legislative session kicks off this week, with the Governor’s State of the State Address happening on Tuesday, January 11. This year marks the 97th legislative session in South Dakota, which healthcare is expected to take center stage. SDAHO’s advocacy team is already monitoring several bills that have been filed, and plans are in place for weekly public policy council meetings to ensure our members are informed on key issues that may impact healthcare. SDAHO’s advocacy team will be in Pierre for the entire run of the session providing a voice for our members as needed. In addition, members can expect weekly, if not daily updates on legislation. Whether through our website, bill tracker, newsletter, or social media platforms, SDAHO is a trusted resource for the latest information on legislation impacting healthcare communities.
This year’s session runs from January 11 to March 10. SDAHO’s lawmakers will return to Pierre on March 28 to consider any gubernatorial vetoes.
