Quality Corner: Focusing on Data

This month’s Quality Corner is focused on Data. Data is at the core of quality. Data is more than plugging numbers into a portal.  Without meaningful data, quality professionals are not able to make good business decisions, identify what processes need improvement and see how they compare to other like facilities.  Data tells a story. It tells a facility of where they are, where they have been and can help predict where the facility is headed.

SDAHO understands the important role that data plays in your daily work and we strive to equip you with the skills to be successful. We are pleased to offer our members two FREE webinars this month.  The first webinar is focused on the Inpatient Outpatient Data Collection portal.  This webinar is targeted at the hospital staff that are responsible to submit the inpatient and/outpatient claims data to the data collection portal located on the SDAHO website.  Iowa Hospital Association will conduct an hour training on how manage batch submissions, learn efficiencies on uploading, verifying and completing the submission process and what is the most common errors and what can you do to prevent them.  Take advantage of this opportunity to learn ways that you can make your data submission go more smoothly and ask questions of the experts from the Iowa Hospital Association.

The second webinar is focused on the reporting tool Dimensions.  The reporting tool allows users to create reports such as the number of patients served by county in the past calendar year or how many ED visits by payer mix to name a few.  This webinar will be presented by Iowa Hospital Association who are experts in the use of the reporting tool.  You will see first-hand how to create these reports and an opportunity to ask questions from the resident expert on the reporting functions.

To register, click on the links below and come ready to learn about the data tools to help in making good business decisions for your hospitals for today and tomorrow. If you are unable to attend these webinars, they will be recorded.
