Presented by SDAHO in collaboration with the South Dakota Office of Rural Health, South Dakota Healthcare Finance Management Association (SDHFMA) and Eide Bailly, this webinar will discuss the proposed and finalized conditions of participation and financial considerations for conversion to the Rural Emergency Hospital (REH) reimbursement model.
The REH program is officially available under CMS effective January 1, 2023. This alternative program will provide a much needed safety net to a specific group of financially struggling critical access hospitals (CAH) and smaller rural Prospective Payment System (PPS) facilities. CMS rules continue to be finalized on the Conditions for Participation as well as the reimbursement methodology. At the same time individual states are scrambling to enact rules around state licensure and Medicaid reimbursement. This session will discuss what is known regarding finalized rules and guidance as well as define those areas that still require rule making and further clarification.
Jeremy Behrens and Ralph Llewellyn, partners with accounting firm Eide Bailly, will provide this educational opportunity and will be available to answer questions about the REH designation and what this may mean to your hospital. This event will take place virtually on December 8, 12:00 – 1:30pm CT. This session is only available to South Dakota hospitals with 50 beds or less.
