SDAHO Attends AHA Annual Membership Meeting

​The South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations (SDAHO) attended the annual meeting of the American Hospital Association in Washington, DC with several SDAHO members.  The group spent time listening to a plethora of speakers from FBI Director, Christopher Wray on the topic of cybersecurity and health care to updates from several government officials on key issues affecting hospitals and health systems.
SDAHO and members also took to Capital Hill to discuss health care issues with our Federal Congressional Delegation staff.  The SDAHO members discussed issues related to protecting the 340B drug pricing program, rejecting cuts to Medicare and Medicaid, key policies related to the end of the PHE (96-hour rule), temporary payment to address patient discharge backlogs, preserve the ban on physician-owned hospitals, and support of the SAVE Act to protect health care workers from violence.  SDAHO President/CEO, Tim Rave attended and expressed the importance of having members join and have face to face conversations with our Congressional Delegation, “SDAHO members did an incredible job in articulating issues impacting their facilities and provided actionable ways our Congressional Delegation could help fix or support these issues.”
