The South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations (SDAHO) is excited to announce applications are now being accepted for the newly created SDAHO Enterprises Nursing and Allied Health Professionals Scholarship!
This scholarship will support Undergraduate Nursing and Allied Health Professional Students currently enrolled or accepted into respective programs at South Dakota Board of Regents (SDBOR) Institutions.
Programs included in the program (but not limited to)
- Nursing
- Medical Laboratory Science Respiratory Care
- Health Informatics
- Speech Language Pathology
If selected, scholarship recipients will receive $5,000.00, disbursed evenly across the students Junior and Senior year. If the applicant is a Senior, the scholarship amount is $2,500.00.
To be eligible, interested applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Admitted to their respective program on or before Fall of 2024.
- Will be a Junior or Senior in the Fall 2024 semester.
- Enrolled full-time in 2024-2025 academic year.
- Has lived in or has intentions to live and work in a rural area post-graduation.
- Agrees to be present to accept the scholarship at the South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations Annual Convention, held each September.
- Commits, in writing, to live and work at a South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organization member facility within the State of South Dakota for a period of two (2) years after graduation, or following graduate education, if applicable.
- Maintains a GPA of at least 3.0 while enrolled at a SDBOR Institution; and
- Agrees that failure to comply with this section results in the loss of scholarship and repayment in the full amount to SDAHO Enterprises is to be expected.
The SDAHO Enterprises Board will act as the Scholarship Committee and will review applications. Scholarship Recipients will be notified prior to the start of the academic year.
