Long-term care service providers are facing increased public reporting on quality measures and outcomes, emphasizing the importance of best practices for all SDAHO members. The 2024 SDAHO Post-Acute Partners in Care Conference offers a robust lineup of clinical sessions designed to enhance quality and outcomes across the long-term care continuum.

Proactive Medical Review and Consulting will host two breakout sessions focusing on significant changes in the MDS 3.0 and their impact on quality measures and the Five Star Rating system. They will also explore long-term care survey trends and effective strategies for facility leadership to implement best practices and avoid common deficiencies.
Join the South Dakota Foundation of Medical Care for a breakout session addressing multidrug-resistant organisms and strategies to protect residents and patients. They will discuss the incidence, transmission, and prevention measures of specific organisms in South Dakota, along with guidelines for implementing enhanced barrier precautions.
Dr. Robin Arends will address the use of antipsychotics in elderly care, discussing why they are prescribed, the risks and benefits, regulatory considerations, and monitoring practices.
Psychiatrist Dr. Robert Nuss will discuss depression in the elderly, providing attendees with resources and best practices for effectively caring for those dealing with depression.
