Department leaders in hospitals are called upon to provide technical as well as financial leadership in their departments. Unfortunately, they are often not provided the tools necessary to understand reimbursement theory of how they are paid for their services. Pre-Admission Screening & Resident Review (PASRR), presented by Ariel Ghanayem & Emily Johnson | July 18

The South Dakota PASRR Program has recently implemented changes focusing on processes improvement, provider education, and quality assurance. This presentation will assist nursing facilities and other PASRR stakeholders in understanding the program’s requirements, expectations, and processes and how to make PASRR a meaningful tool for the residents served. Physical Environment, Environment of Care and Life Safety Code Survey, presented by Nancy Ruzicka | July 25

The number of deficiencies in the physical environment condition of participation and the environment-of-care standards has continued to increase over the last several years. This session will review commonly cited life safety code deficiencies in hospitals. We will review commonly cited physical environment deficiencies and most frequently cited Life Safety Code deficiencies. CMS updates on these areas including expectations on ligature resistant environment, CMS categorical waivers, air pressure and humidity concerns in surgical suites. Click here to register.
