The South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations is gearing up for the 2024 Annual Convention taking place at The Monument in Rapid City, September 25-27, 2024.
Each year this annual event pulls together healthcare professionals from across the state to embark on the largest healthcare conference in the region. In addition to the educational sessions, networking and exhibitor booth, there is the Award Luncheon Ceremony! This special event recognizes and celebrates healthcare professionals for their commitment and dedication to the industry. Affiliate Society groups honor their members through specialized awards. Affiliate Society groups and awards include:
- The South Dakota Association of Healthcare Quality | Quality Professional of the Year Award
- South Dakota Healthcare Financial Management Association | William G. Follmer Bronze Award | Robert H. Reeves Silver
- SD Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS of the Dakotas) | Leadership in Excellence Award | HIMSS of the Dakotas Chapter Achievement Award
- South Dakota Healthcare Human Resource Association | Human Resource Spirit Of Service Award | Human Resource Leadership Award
In addition, the American College of Healthcare Executives will honor 2 of its members. SDAHO will honor three American Hospital Association award recipients, who were presented with a Political Action Committee Most Valuable Player award and the Grassroots Champion earlier this year.
New this year, SDAHO Enterprises Scholarship. Three students were selected to receive this brand new scholarship, with their names announced during the Award Luncheon Ceremony.
SDAHO will recognize 10 individuals with the Distinguished Service Awards. Those awards include:

- Trustee Award
- Quality Champion Award
- State Official Award
- Health Care Hero Award
- Healthcare Journalist Award
- Young Professional Award
- Post-Acute Care Champion Award
- Healthcare Community Impact Award
Last, SDAHO will honor one individual with the Larry Veitz Lifetime Achievement Award. This individual has made a significant contribution to the healthcare industry. Their dedication and commitment to their healthcare system, their staff, and their community deserves to be recognized.
