The South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations welcomes Kiara Lane as Member Relations Coordinator. In this role Lane works closely with the Association’s Education and Communication department assisting with event planning and programs. In addition, Lane is responsible for assisting members with the on-line portal system and helping the office with administrative duties.
Prior to SDAHO Lane worked in bridal sales, bringing a strong customer service and management background to her new role. Lane also worked as a patient care tech at Avera with the Oncology Transplant floor in Sioux Falls. Lane said working in healthcare, specifically oncology and transplant, gave her a better perspective and appreciation for life. “Connecting with patients and getting to listen to them share their stories and the stories of their families was a privilege, and I will always be grateful to have had that opportunity.” Kiara Lane, Member Relations Coordinator
Lane brings to the association a strong skillset in multi-tasking, organizational management and customer service, which will serve the members and our mission. “In the short term I am looking forward to meeting members and serving however I can. In the long term, I will focus on learning the role, focusing on handling each unique task while helping to streamline duties to ensure better efficiency.” Kiara Lane, Member Relations Coordinator
Lane says she is looking forward to more meaningful work with her SDAHO position, which also provides challenges and learning opportunities. “I’m really excited to be here and I look forward to the work to be done to help SDAHO and members achieve as much as possible!”
Lane grew up in Sioux Falls, which she still calls home. She attended college at Minnesota State University Moorhead and South Dakota State University. She and her fiancée Malik have a son (3). When not working, Lane enjoys crocheting, watching documentaries, baking, cake decorating and traveling. “We also like to try new restaurants, going to the park, library, Washington Pavilion and spending time with family.”
