The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) is currently accepting applications for its four-year Rural Maternity and Obstetrics Management Strategies (Rural MOMS) Program. Interested parties have until April 22 to submit their applications for this funding opportunity. Through this program, HRSA will award up to three cooperative agreements, with each award providing as much as $1 million per year. The purpose of these agreements is to establish and strengthen rural obstetric networks designed to improve both access to and the quality of maternity care in underserved rural communities across the United States.
The Rural MOMS program aims to promote collaborative improvement and innovation within these networks, supporting efforts that enhance the delivery of maternity and obstetrics care in rural areas, where healthcare resources are often limited. By building these networks, HRSA intends to address the challenges faced by expectant mothers and families living in rural communities, ensuring they have access to comprehensive and high-quality care during pregnancy and childbirth. The program is scheduled to run from September 30, 2025, through September 29, 2029, giving applicants an opportunity to contribute to a long-term, impactful initiative designed to improve rural maternal health outcomes.
