The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently disclosed dozens of warning letters sent to drug companies that accuse them of using misleading or deceptive advertising. The disclosures follow the agency’s Sept. 9 announcement that it was sending thousands of warning letters to companies with misleading ads and 100 cease-and-desist letters to companies with deceptive ads. On Sept. 10, President Trump signed a memorandum directing the Department of Health and Human Services and the FDA to require drug companies to include full safety warnings in their consumer advertisements.
