The South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations (SDAHO) hosted its 99th Annual Convention, September 24–26, 2024, at the Sioux Falls Convention Center. Themed “Celebrating Medical Marvels: 99 Years & Beyond,” the three-day event brought together health care professionals from hospitals, nursing homes, home health, hospice, and assisted living organizations across the state.
The three day convention was packed with energy, that brought dynamic keynote speakers and thought-provoking education sessions to vibrant networking opportunities. Attendees gathered to learn, connect, and celebrate the extraordinary work happening across South Dakota’s health care community.

“The caliber of presenters this year was outstanding. They brought not only expertise, but also passion and energy that inspired and challenged all of us,” said Michella Sybesma, SDAHO’s Vice President of Education and Communication.
Highlights included the Awards Luncheon Celebration, honoring health care professionals for their leadership and dedication, and the Exhibitor Social, where attendees connected with industry partners, colleagues and peers. The convention closed with an inspiring keynote that left participants energized and ready to carry the momentum forward.

“This convention is more than an event—it’s a chance for our members and the health care community to come together, recharge, and reaffirm our shared mission of caring for South Dakotans,” said Tim Rave, SDAHO President and CEO.
As we celebrated 99 years of SDAHO history, we also looked forward with excitement—launching the countdown to our 100th Anniversary Convention in 2026.
“I am grateful to our members, presenters, and vendors who joined us for this year’s annual event. Their partnership and participation allow SDAHO to grow, succeed, and provide opportunities for all of us to come together, connect, learn, and leave feeling energized. We look forward to next year’s milestone as we celebrate 100 years of serving our members and the health care community.” Michella Sybesma.
