Earlier this month, the 2025 Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) South Dakota Annual Education Conference was held October 2–3 at the University of South Dakota Sioux Falls Campus, with a virtual option available. The event provided continuing education for those involved in infection prevention and control across the state.

Michelle Jury, BSN, RN, Clinical Improvement Consultant with the South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations (SDAHO), serves as the Nominations and Membership Chair for APIC South Dakota.
Educational sessions covered a range of topics, including change management, microbiology, Legionella, hospital-onset bacteremia, and self-care for infection preventionists.
Celebrate International Infection Prevention Week (IPPW) October 19-25, 2025!
International Infection Prevention Week (IIPW) is a global initiative dedicated to raising awareness about the critical importance of infection prevention. Each year, IIPW celebrates the impact of IPs and reinforces the essential practices that protect patients, healthcare workers, and the public. It’s a moment to honor their expertise, amplify their voice, and remind the world that infection prevention saves lives.
