Retaining South Dakota nurses remains a key initiative for the South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations (SDAHO). Nurse leaders — whether at the bedside or in management — play a vital role in retention by shaping the quality and stability of the work environment, fostering collaboration, and improving patient outcomes.
The SDAHO Nurse Leadership Program is designed to empower current and emerging nurse leaders through education, connection, and professional growth. The 10-session program includes a mix of in-person and virtual meetings, along with attendance at SDAHO’s Post-Acute Care Conference and Annual Conference.
Participants will engage with South Dakota nurse leaders and healthcare industry experts on topics including:
- Communication skills
- Healthcare ethics and finance
- Evidence-based practice
- Legal aspects of human resource management
- The role of the South Dakota Board of Nursing
- And more
This program offers an excellent opportunity for nurses across the state to expand their leadership skills, gain valuable insights, and strengthen their impact within their organizations.
