SDAHO Enterprises: Monthly Update

My name is Erin Healy, and I am the new Director of Business Development with SDAHO Enterprises. Each month, I’ll be sharing an article to keep you informed of the work taking place within SDAHO Enterprises on behalf of our members and partners.

Erin Healy

For my first monthly article, I’m excited to introduce myself and share a bit about my background and the work ahead.

This role focuses on supporting SDAHO members in meaningful and practical ways by connecting health care organizations across South Dakota with solutions that help them navigate challenges, reduce costs, and strengthen their operations. This includes building partnerships with trusted vendors, developing shared services, and creating opportunities that bring real value back to our members.

The most important part of this role is connection. I look forward to reaching out to members across the state—listening, learning, and gaining a deeper understanding of the challenges they face and the priorities they are working toward. Those conversations will directly shape how we grow the Enterprises Partner Solutions Program and ensure our work aligns with what members truly need.

My approach is shaped by my background in health care and public service. At Sanford Health, I worked closely with clinical and operational leaders to address complex challenges—improving patient experience, aligning resources to meet patient needs, and using data to guide better decision-making. That experience reinforced the importance of collaboration and practical problem-solving in high-stakes environments.

I currently serve as a state legislator representing District 10 in Sioux Falls and as Minority Leader in the House of Representatives. I have served since 2019 and will continue in this role through the November elections. My legislative experience has provided a broader statewide perspective on health care, offering insight into how policy, systems, and providers intersect—and the importance of developing solutions that are thoughtful, realistic, and sustainable for the organizations delivering care every day.

This role with SDAHO brings those experiences together in a way that feels both natural and meaningful. It provides an opportunity to stay closely connected to health care while focusing on solutions that directly support our members and the communities they serve.

Just as importantly, this work supports SDAHO’s broader mission. By strengthening partnerships and growing non-dues revenue, we can expand education, resources, and programming that benefit members across the state.

I’m excited to collaborate with the SDAHO team, our Enterprises Board, and members statewide to continue building a program that is responsive, relevant, and valuable. From one-on-one conversations to engagement through events and partnerships, this role is deeply relationship-driven, and I look forward to connecting with you. Success means our members feel supported in ways that make their work easier and more sustainable.
