The South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations (SDAHO) is pleased to announce that Michelle Jury, BSN, RN, CPHQ, Clinical Improvement Consultant, has been appointed to the Partnership for Quality Measurement (PQM) Endorsement and Maintenance Primary Prevention Committee—a prestigious national volunteer role that helps shape the future of health care quality measurement across the United States.
The appointment follows an application and selection process, as well as a period of public review before receiving final approval. Jury will serve a three-year term, beginning this fall, with two years on the committee’s Advisory Group followed by a year serving on the Recommendation Group.
Managed by Battelle on behalf of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the Partnership for Quality Measurement brings together clinicians, patients, researchers, and health care experts from across the country to evaluate and strengthen the quality measures used throughout the U.S. health care system. These evidence-based measures play an important role in improving patient safety, advancing clinical quality, and ensuring health care organizations are measuring what matters most.
As a member of the Primary Prevention Committee, Jury will participate in two national review cycles each year, dedicating approximately 40 to 60 hours per cycle reviewing quality measures, evaluating scientific evidence, providing expert recommendations, and participating in committee discussions with health care leaders from across the nation.
“This appointment provides an incredible opportunity to contribute to the development and improvement of national quality measures while bringing valuable perspectives from South Dakota’s health care community,” said Jury. “I’m very excited to be able to use the experience I have gained during my 26-year nursing career as well as my certification in quality as I contribute to this important work.  I am very honored to serve alongside experts from across the country and look forward to helping advance measures that support better patient outcomes. My participation will benefit not only patients but health care professionals, SDAHO members.”
Jury’s appointment reflects SDAHO’s ongoing commitment to assist our members with quality improvement and patient-centered care. By serving on this national committee, she will help influence the measures that guide health care quality across the country while bringing valuable insights and best practices back to South Dakota’s health care organizations.
