When it comes to picking an excellent nursing home, look no further than South Dakota. According to information compiled and released by FamilyAssets, an organization that provides comprehensive guides and resources for senior care services, South Dakota has the best rated nursing homes with over 84 percent rated at four or five stars. At the opposite end of the spectrum was Nevada with nearly half of their nursing homes rated as one or two star facilities.
FamilyAssets aggregates hundreds of thousands of online user reviews, which is a different approach than used by Medicare and their star rating system.
