New Opportunities for States to Better Serve Dual Eligibles

On December 19th, 2018, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) sent a letter to State Medicaid Directors outlining ten opportunities for eligible Medicare and Medicaid individuals and providers who serve them. The opportunities do not require complex demonstrations or Medicare Waivers. The letter highlights opportunities to implement new developments with managed care, use of Medicare data to inform care coordination, program integrity initiatives, and reduce administrative burden. Additionally, the CMS Medicare-Medicaid Coordination Office brought together reports, data, and other resources to help providers better understand the health, health care needs, and health care experiences of individuals who are dually enrolled

The data and statistical resources are available here.
